La vita utile di una sovrastruttura stradale e ferroviaria è fortemente condizionata dalla capacità portante del sottofondo. L’azione di addensamento del terreno è un’operazione di rilevanza assoluta, perché oltre al comfort di marcia, garantisce la stabilità e l’assenza di cedimenti, ovvero la funzionalità della sovrastruttura nella fase di esercizio.

The service life of a road and rail superstructure is strongly affected by the bearing capacity of the subgrade. The action of thickening the soil is an operation of absolute importance, because in addition to ride comfort, it ensures stability and the absence of failure, i.e., the functionality of the superstructure during operation.
