Main description (English)
The current study aims to investigate the effect of the Active Thinking Model on academic achievement and the development of social awareness among second-grade intermediate students in social studies during the 2023-2024 academic year. The study sample consisted of two groups: an experimental group with 37 students and a control group with 39 students. The researcher used an achievement test as the main tool for the study, which consists of 30 test items. In addition, the researcher developed a social awareness scale composed of 20 items distributed across four main domains. The results showed a statistically significant difference in favor of the experimental group, who was taught using the Active Thinking Model, as well as an enhancement in the social awareness. The researcher concluded the following: 1. The Active Thinking Model contributed to improving the academic achievement of second-grade intermediate students in social studies. 2. The Active Thinking Model was effective in developing social awareness among second-grade intermediate students in social studies.
