Main description
One of the main pollutants in the tanning industry is chromium tanning. By removing chromium compounds from tanning processes, scientists strive to create environmentally friendly and clean processing technologies. Recently, combined tanning has been used, using new complexes using metallic substitutes such as Al, Zr, Ti, Li. Part of these guidelines is the so-called "white tanning".
