Introduction Quercetin occurs abundantly in a variety of fruits and vegetables. This biologically active compound exhibits remarkable antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and anti-tumor activities. Quercetin incorporation in fibrous polymer matrices is of interest when its biomedical and pharmaceutical applications are intended.
